Psychologist specialized in Neuropsychology
What is Neuropsychology?
It is a branch of psychology that is empirically grounded and that is based on evidence and scientific research. It studies the relationships between the brain and cognitive, behavioral and emotional functions. This branch of psychology aims to understand how different structures and activities of the brain influence mental processes and behaviors. In this way, specific and individualized psychotherapeutic care can be offered to meet the needs of each individual. These treatments are scientifically guided and, therefore, demonstrate evidence of effectiveness.

What does a neuropsychologist do?
Anamnesis and life history
The neuropsychologist collects the patient's life history, their background, their way of functioning on a daily basis, as well as their goals and life plans.
Functional assessment of the complaint
Once this information has been collected, the neuropsychologist analyzes the patient's complaint. It examines how this complaint manifests itself in the patient's daily life, what its impacts are on his or her life, whether they are emotional, cognitive, behavioral manifestations or a mixture of these aspects.

Psychoeducation of the patient
The neuropsychologist informs the patient about his/her complaint (eg: depression) in order to put him/her back at the center of care and give him back control. In addition, the neuropsychologist explains the progress of each session and the therapy as a whole.
Installation of the therapeutic plan
From these elements, the neuropsychologist and the patient collaborate to develop a therapeutic plan. This plan is based on the patient's complaint, care goals and wishes. The patient is at the center of his care, while being guided by the expertise of the neuropsychologist. Together, they establish the rhythm of the sessions, the total duration of the therapy and the objectives to be achieved.
After these assessment sessions, therapy begins.
